The Dolly Mama, the Fabric Floozies and Mary just had their Christmas Challenge Doll Exchange and Party. We had a celebration…..what talent and imaginations! The doll I designed was inspired by R.T. Erte’, a famous artist-fashion designer in the early 1900’s. He was featured in Harper’s Bazar from 1915 to 1936. After seeing the movie Burlesque I begin to look through some of my early century books and came across some of his work. I loved the “doll” purses he designed. Motivated to sketch one of my own, and the Christmas Challenge just around the corner I went to work on this new pattern and doll. That is how the Lady Jane Purse was produced.

Artist from the recent Reno/Iowa Retreat and I worked on this creation. The retreat which Sherry Goshon and Jean Bearnard have annually was one of the most enriching times of my life. If you ever get a chance to go to one of their classes or take an online class, do so.......it will make a world of difference. Out of the box.

Oregon Coast
I've spent a month at the Oregon Coast. Packing up my mother~in~law to move her in with Steve and I. Went to Nadonna Beach....best driftwood hunting grounds in the world as far as I am concerned. Mom's garden is so beautiful...I know she will hate to leave it. Taking lots of pictures to make a scrapbook for her. Life is very different as we get older....I love her so much....just hope she will enjoy being with us.

Brittany's First Doll
Just had the most wonderful week of my life. My granddaughter was here from Richland, WA and we had a blast...well at least I did! We shopped till we dropped. We sunbathed in the hot AZ sun. We eat till we almost burst and we made dolls. Brittany made her first doll "Rhiannon" which means: Great Queen or Goddess....does that sound like my granddaughter? Brittany is fast becoming the next generation of doll-makers....of course that will be after she gets out of College!
We are off to the airport...sad day for me, happy day for her family in the north.

We are having the time of our lives this weekend. Visiting friends in Bellingham, Washington. Wonderful weather and the view is clear and beautiful. It is a break from the 104 degrees in Arizona. We miss the NW.
